The Cause

Far too many of our family, friends and neighbors have been stricken with cancer. Some have been blessed and have regained their good health, and some have fought courageously but have ultimately perished. Still others have yet to be diagnosed, but will someday come face to face with this most insidious disease…

Neal Webber, a great friend, a loving husband and father, and a caring and generous man throughout his life, learned of his very serious illness just three months following a team adventure race. From Longmeadow, Massachusetts and Dartmouth College, Neal was an accomplished athlete, a brilliant businessman and a shining star in the community. Braver and tougher than most, Neal fought cancer for four long years, refusing to succumb to it in any way other than on his own terms, until finally relenting in October 2008. Never forgetting Neal keeps all of those men, women and children still fighting for their lives, with great determination and boundless spirit, in our hearts and on our minds…

Conceived as a team adventure race with a very significant purpose, the Mass Dash will bring together hundreds of runners, sharing their time, their thoughts and themselves while racing across Massachusetts on a summer day, all dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support family, friends and neighbors in the fight against cancer…

The Mass Dash:  Run, Fight, and Never Forget…
